The ultimate freedom feeling can be experienced on the Texel beach. Put on your walking shoes and let the wind blow through your hair during a beach walk along the tide line. Or take off your shoes and let the fine beach sand glide between your toes. The vast beach offers as much peace and quiet or action as you wish. With a length of 30 kilometres the beach has endless possibilities and the changing seasons give the beach many different faces. Each visitor has their own personal favourite part of the beach.
There are different beach entrances, where you will find beach pavilions, among other things. At post 9 (near Den Hoorn) and post 28 (near De Cocksdorp) the beach pavilions are open all year round. In the meantime post 17, post 21 (south and north of De Koog) and post 33 (de Cocksdorp) are also open all year round.
There are lifeguards at most locations in Summer. Swimming is permitted along the entire North Sea beach, except for a stretch between posts 31 and 33.
Nude beaches
Nude recreation is permitted on two parts of the beach. Hoornderslag: ½ km south of Post 9, Den Hoorn Krimslag: 1 km south of Post 28, De Cocksdorp The nude beaches are indicated with signs and are not guarded. Nude recreation on the beach and in the water only, not in the dunes. There are no pavilions or other provisions.
