There are 5 doctors' practices on Texel: 4 in Den Burg and 1 in De Cocksdorp. Diverse healthcare services are available on the island, such as physiotherapists, homeopaths, family care and social workers. In life threatening situations call 112. The TESO boat delays departure when an ambulance is on its way. At times without scheduled ferry crossings, an extra ferry crossing will be arranged for the ambulance.
In non life threatening situations you can visit a doctor during office hours. For urgent health care outside of office hours you can contact the central doctor's post (Centrale Huisartsenpost). It is only possible to visit a doctor after making an appointment by telephone. More information is available on www.huisartsendienst.nl.

Holiday dialysis centre Oosterend
This centre, founded in March 2005, offers 4-6 dialysis stations and is open all year round. Medical and nursing care is provided from the Medical Centre in Alkmaar by qualified internists/ nephrologists and dialysis nurses. It is a complete dialysis centre equipped with dialysis apparatus. Nursing equipment hire
At the Thuiszorgwinkel Noord Holland Noord you can borrow, hire or buy an extensive assortment of healthcare aids and nursing equipment. On request you can receive, for example, a wheelchair, shower chair, high-low bed, carrying lift or an electric three wheeled scooter. Nursing and personal care
It is also possible for people with physical disabilities to plan an individual holiday. The aim is: the holiday guest states in which period the care is required and in which form and it will be arranged at the required time of day, evening or night.
