VOC shipping routes

The map on the right clearly shows which routes the VOC ships sailed from Enkhuizen, Hoorn and Amsterdam over the Zuider Zee to reach Texel, Vlieland and Terschelling. The Texel Roads was especially popular. The ships were supplied with provisions and crew. The last map shows the routes to and from the East. The journey to the East took 8 months, depending on the weather conditions.
