Booking

  • 1 Can I get a cancellation insurance by booking?

You can arrange cancellation insurance during your online booking. It is advisable to arrange cancellation insurance as there is always a chance that events can happen to make you postpone or cancel your trip. The costs of cancelling a booking can mount up to 100 percent of the original price. The cancellation insurance offered by Mondial Assistance covers these costs in many cases. You will also receive compensation if you have to travel back home during your stay. All unforeseeable events fall in principle under the following conditions:

Serious illness or death of the insured party or close family members. Involuntary unemployment after working on a permanent contract. Serious damage, for example by fire, to property of the insured party resulting in the insured party having to return home. These conditions also apply upon mid-holiday cancellation. Read here the conditions of your cancellation insurance policy

    Cancellation insurance premium

The cancellation insurance premium amounts to 6% of the total holiday costs. 9,7% insurance tax is charged over the premium plus € 4.50 policy cost.

Experience, Review

  • 1 Is it possible to give a review of the accommodation we’ve stayed in on Texel?

Yes, that’s possible and please do! If you have booked accommodation with VVV Texel (Tourist Information on Texel) you will receive an email at home within 3 days after your holiday. You will be asked to share your experiences. There are two ways to do this:

    1. 1.      Give us an evaluation of your accommodation (2 min.)
    2. 2.      Fill out the Texel survey (10 min.)
    3. 3.      In case you have any remarks regarding the quality of your accommodation you will be asked to contact VVV Texel using our complaint form.

In this email you will find all necessary links.

All reviews will be collected. On a representative number of reviews we show this on our site.

  • 2 Why does VVV Texel want to add reviews to www.texel.net?

VVV Texel thinks it important to inform visitors to Texel as accurately and exhaustively as it can, and this includes information about overnight accommodation. Guests have suggested that VVV Texel place reviews on the www.texel.net website. By adding these reviews to www.texel.net, visitors will not have to search other sites for reviews and moreover, these reviews often feature very personal, favourable accounts of the accommodation. There is a growing trend for reviews; consumers regard them as a kind “digital word of mouth advertising”.

  • 3 What happens once a guest has submitted a review?

If a guest has booked overnight accommodation via VVV Texel, he will receive an email three days after he arrives back at home with an invitation to share his experiences and to submit a review. VVV Texel is still busy preparing the site, which means we will collect all the reviews first and only display them on www.texel.net once we have a representative number of reviews on the hotel or guest house, etc.
