Come and enjoy the spring
Look at the Texel landscape around you and you'll see pure spring. Last week the first spoonbill returned to the Texel dunes from Africa. The snowdrops form a white carpet in the pine forest and in coppices across the whole island. This is also lambing time, during which thousands of lambs are born. You're most welcome to come and enjoy the spring on the island!
Snowdrops

The Texel soil is most suitable for flower bulbs. In the 1960s pioneering Texel inhabitants earned a good living by trading in snowdrops, which they dug up themselves in France. The bulbs were then cultivated in woods and coppices on Texel. Thanks to these first snowdrop traders we can now continue to enjoy the white carpets of snowdrops across the island.

Buying Texel products in the webshop
Missing Texel? You no longer have to board the ferry boat to buy souvenirs, books and DVDs about Texel and the best local products. Everything is now (or soon will be) available via the new Texel Tourist Information Webshop
Wool grease

One of the Texel products in the web shop is the new hand cream from TexelWool. The cream is used by many enthusiastic customers on the island, including the Tourist Information staff. The healing powers of wool grease have long been known. This cream consists of completely natural ingredients, so it has no dehydrating effect otherwise caused by perfumes and colourings, and you can really feel the difference!
New ‘Day on Texel'

Also available in the webshop is the renewed ‘Day on Texel'. An ideal way to ‘sample' Texel and very good value for money. For only € 12,50 you receive a return ferry journey, including a beverage, bicycle hire, a map of Texel, a cycling route, a walking route, a cup of fresh soup with bread and reduction for Ecomare or the Maritime and Beachcombing Museum.
Surprising Tourist Information Shop
Those visiting us in March will be welcomed in a surprising way: in the semi-trailer of the Texel Truck, usually used to promote the island. This is due to the renovation of the Tourist Information Office and shop. The shop will be enlarged and amongst others, 3 internet points for visitors will be added. The renovations will be completed by Good Friday.
