Texel is very easily accessible, so well as by car as by public transport. You'll start experiencing the holiday feeling when you see the ferry arriving whilst standing on the harbour wall at Den Helder. Once aboard the comfortable double-decker boat you'll find yourself on a floating part of Texel. The seagulls fly alongside you. A wonderful freedom feeling!
To Den Helder
The ferry harbour in Den Helder is only an hour and a quarter from Amsterdam. Den Helder is also easily accessible by train. You travel to the train station in Den Helder and a bus leaves the train station hourly to the ferry harbour (line 33: 12 minutes past the hour). The ferry to Texel departs all day long, hourly on the half hour. The last ferry leaves at 21.30. At peak times a reserve boat is in use, which means that there is a ferry every half hour.
Texel Return for only € 2,50
Within 20 minutes you'll be on Texel. The boat is surprisingly good value. As foot passenger you pay only€ 2,50 per person for a return ticket! You can also easily take the car on the ferry. You do not have to book. A return for a car plus max. 9 passengers is € 35,-.
Reduction: On Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday a return for a car plus max. 9 passengers costs only € 24,50
