Wad hopping
Wad hopping
Wad hopping from one island to the next. All five islands are interconnected between May and mid September. Wad hopping is a unique way to discover all Wadden islands and the Wadden area. You won't get a better opportunity to enjoy a close encounter with the Wadden Sea World Heritage Site, the biggest, and one of the most important nature reserves of Western Europe.
Clippers
There are various ways to do Wad hopping. During the summer months, two clippers, the Willem Jacob and the Avontuur, maintain a sailing schedule between the Wadden Islands. In cooperation with Stayokay accommodation, the Island Hopper has a special package deal for wad hopping on o
ffer. A sailing trip between the Wadden Islands takes anywhere between three and six hours. Enjoy some sunbathing on the deck or roll up your sleeves and offer the skipper a hand.
On your own
Wad hopping can also be done individually. During summer peak season, ferry services are operating between all five islands. Use a taxi service or bike to get from and to the harbor, and soak up all the beautiful things each island has to offer. Schedules can vary, depending on the conditions, tide and how busy it is. Bookings are recommended. Make sure you get all the information you need when you go Wad hopping on your own.
