Electric bicycles

At many cycle hire companies it is also possible to rent electric bicycles. It is best to book in advance.

Barbecue spot

Staatsbosbeheer has made one of the three barbecues at the barbeque place on de Randweg accessible for wheelchair users. For directions see Google Maps.

Fishing

There's a jetty (accessible for wheelchair users) in the residential area 'De Mars' in Den Burg (Buytengors) and in De Cocksdorp next to de Roggesloot (behind de Kikkertstraat).

Fishing licence (on "de Zeester" only for push wheelchairs).

 Fishing permit

Fishing with up to two rods is allowed along the whole coastline without a permit. Fishers are asked to watch out for other beach users and only to cast their rods out outside of the life-guarded beaches. Fishing in the Texel inland waterways does require a permit. You can buy a permit at the Texel Tourist Information (VVV) and at the house of Mr. Hottentot, Vuurtorenweg 66, De Cocksdorp, telephone number 0222-316526. Here you can also buy fishing baits.

Boats adapted for the disabled

The following shrimp fishing boats are suitable for the disabled: TX10 , called ‘Emmie’, TX44 and the TX35 called ‘de Zeester’. (push wheelchairs only).
