Call +31 112 in case of an emergency or any other life threatening situation where every second counts.
Accidents with property damage only
There is no life threatening situation. Contact the local police on the Dutch police number +31 (0)900-8844.
When to dial 112 and when to dial 0900-8844
112 is for emergency cases only. These are life threatening situations and any crime in progress. The number
0900-8844 is only for contacting the police.
Ambulance
In life threatening situations call 112. The TESO boat delays departure when an ambulance is on its way. There's
an ambulance post on Texel. At times without scheduled ferry crossings, an extra ferry crossing will be arranged
for the ambulance.
In non life threatening situations you can visit a doctor during office hours. For urgent health care outside of office
hours you can contact the central doctor's post (Centrale Huisartsenpost) at +31 (0)222-321143. It is only
possible to visit a doctor after making an appointment by telephone. More information is available on
www.huisartsendienst.nl.
