Charming cottage with lots of privacy and space against the dune area
The cottage consists of a living room with two bedrooms. In the first bedroom you will find two comfortable single box-spring beds (200 x 80). In the second bedroom (L-shaped) you will find a single bed (200 x 80), a small single bed (190 x 70) and a high single bed (190 x 80). The cottage dates back to the 1970's as can be seen in the photos. Some details can still be found, such as the heating via a gas heater in the living room. In addition, there is extra heating with a radiant heater that you can move to the bedrooms. In the living room you will find two fixed sofas and the kitchen with a 4-burner gas stove. Fridge, kitchen utensils, kettle and coffee maker (filter) are available.

BijMokbaai
Our accommodations are located on the quiet rugged side of Texel. Within walking distance is the sea and the Mokbaai, which is a unique nature reserve for bird lovers. In the evening you have a good chance to see the sunset from our own dune.
Location
The Mokbaai is a bay in the south of Texel. You will see it on the left when you arrive on Texel by ferry. In this southern tip of Texel you can regularly enjoy beautiful, typical Dutch cloudy skies. The bay is often referred to as the Wadden Sea in miniature. There are mud flats, salt marshes, a channel and a mussel bed. At low tide, Mokbaai largely dries up and is an important foraging area for waterfowl. Next to the Mokbaai are several bird reserves, such as De Geul and De Petten. The charming cottage and the beautiful caravan and tipi are located in the dune garden of a house on the edge of the Mokbaai, between 't Horntje and Den Hoorn. Here you can enjoy the greenery. On the grounds you will discover salamanders, woodpeckers, butterflies and many other animals. Take the path nearby to the beach and Mokbaai where you can find crabs, mussels, oysters and samphire. Within cycling distance you will find the village of Den Hoorn with many local products and restaurants.

Special about this accommodation
The unique thing about our place is that you are within walking distance of the ferry but still in a nice quiet area. The place itself has a lot of history and is unique because of the dunes from which you have a beautiful view of a sunset. You come to us for peace, space and nature. There is no TV and there is also no internet.

As a resident of this beautiful part of Texel, I enjoy the space and surroundings. In addition to the rental accommodations, I am a lover of cooking and local food. I am viticulturist and also sell wine in this place. This wine is often made organically or biodynamically. As a welcome guest you will of course receive a nice bottle.
