Centrally located on Texel is the smallest village on the island: De Waal. The special houses, old farms and the tranquility of the village are typical of the friendly village. Just outside De Waal is Farm Campsite De Texelaar where you can enjoy hospitality, tranquility, space and beautiful views over the Texel landscape. To the north of the campsite is the Waalenburg polder. A beautiful walking route runs through this green area with colorful orchids, old creeks and many meadow birds. More to the south, between Den Burg and the fishing village of Oudeschild, you will find the Hoge Berg nature reserve, the oldest part of the Wadden Island. Here you will see typical Texel garden walls and sheep farms.
