Bed & breakfast 't Kraaiennest is quietly located on the edge of De Cocksdorp, in the northern part of Texel. You will find beautiful nature reserves around the village, such as De Slufter, the Eierlandse Duinen, the Roggesloot and De Schorren. These areas are home to many bird species. It is not without reason that the Vogelinformatiecentrum (Bird Information Center) is located in De Cocksdorp. From this bed & breakfast you can walk to the cozy village center to rent a bicycle, grab a terrace or browse around in one of the shops. In the evening you can eat out at one of the many restaurants. The symbol of Texel is nearby: the lighthouse.

In the kitchen corner there is a Nespresso and a kettle. There is a choice of a number of teas and coffee cups, sugar and milk. There is also crockery and cutlery for use for both dinner and breakfast. The wide bed of 180 cm. is formatted. Bath slippers are ready for you. A hair dryer is available as well as various soaps and shampoo. The luxurious and thick towels are in the bathroom. The entire room has underfloor heating. You can park for free in the driveway. The extensive breakfast is served in the room at a time of your choice. You can specify your wishes for breakfast. In good weather it is possible to have breakfast outside. There is a parasol with two chairs and a table. This is a ‘ZoTexels’ accommodation. 'ZoTexels' is a network of private accommodations where guests can savour the authentic flavour and hospitality of Texel.

Introduce
My husband Kees and I have been living on Texel and De Cocksdorp since May 2017. Our BnB was also opened in the same month. We have two dachshunds ourselves, born on Texel, and that is why we have made the BnB dog-friendly. This means that the terrace, adjacent to the room, is completely closed and that there are tiles in the room with underfloor heating. The BnB is located near the Krimbos, so a wonderful place to start beautiful and long, also shorter, walks from here. Something for everyone, the dunes and the woods close by. A quiet village with a supermarket, a number of restaurants, a few shops and a small market once a week and a large market in high season. Close to the lighthouse, the mudflats and the North Sea. In short, a nice place with lots of peace and quiet and yet close to the entertainment and bustle of De Koog and Den Burg. You're welcome.
Tips from the host
The BnB is within walking distance, about a 4 km. from the beach, De Slufter and the Lighthouse. Especially the beach on the North Sea side has spectacular sunrises and especially the sunset. Take a seat on the terrace and enjoy the beautiful colors. Climbing the lighthouse is a challenge, but then you have a beautiful view over the beach and the sea and towards Vlieland. The airport is also close by. Nice to watch the paratroopers land from the terrace with a snack and to pay a visit to the Aviation and War Museum.
