Saturday 24 July 2021 The duo Hans Woudenberg (cello) and Bas Kwakman (poetry, voice) bring together two pieces – Zerewind and Het kind (The Child). Zerewind is a cycle of poems by Bas Kwakman about the elusiveness of the artist, the tense relationship between the artist and the public and between his autonomy and the prevailing views. Het kind (The Child) is a short cycle of poems, written from an imaginative five-year-old child who, in the middle of the magical childhood phase, tries to get hold of a sick father. On the basis of the poems, cellist Hans Woudenberg went in search of the spaces that the words offered him. Short loose compositions have been created on the basis of improvisations, in which he reacts to the content, the sound, the atmosphere, the white spaces in the poems and the meter. In addition to the poem cycles, Woudenberg plays the piece Le sublime et un départ, a composition by Nico Huijbregts based on a poem by Rainer Maria Rilke and Syrinx. Show times: 1.30 pm and 4.30 pm.
