Saturday, November 19, 2022 Stichting Vrienden van de Maartenskerk Texel organizes an evening with Lodewijk Dros and Aart v/d Brink. Lodewijk will tell stories about the role Texel plays for him and where Texel owes its world fame to. This includes some typical Texel food and drink. Aart and Lodewijk will also talk about what goes in and out of the mouth: Tessels. They will perform both old and new songs in Tessels - suitable for Tessels speakers, but also for those who did not grow up with it. Look forward to the Farmers' Psalm (the Tessels Halleluja) and the very Oosterend Excelsior on Achtertuune'. In addition, the Texel identity will be discussed: what about farmers, what is a Texel fleet if there are no more cutters, and does all of Texel hang on the infusion of the seaside guest? All in all, an evening of music, cheerful songs and surprising lyrics, with a touch of nostalgia and some goodies to go with it! Location: Maartenskerk, Oosterend. Time: 7:30 pm Walk-in with coffee/tea. Starts 8 pm Cost: 12,50 euro. Sale at the entrance of the church. Pre-sale from November 1, 2022; Butcher shop Maas, Peperstraat 5 in Oosterend and Boekhandel Het Openboek, Binnenburg 3 in Den Burg.
