Location

De Cocksdorp is a pleasant village in the northern part of Texel, adjacent to the Wadden Sea. The village was founded in 1835 near the harbor that is hidden under the dike of the island. The building in which bed & breakfast Smederij Texel is located was built in that time and has long been used as a forge. Guest house Droom is located on the ground floor and borders the garden with old orchard. The Cocksdorp is in a beautiful setting. The nature on this part of the island is enormously varied. You will find a fantastic forest, a challenging dune area and an impressive wide sandy beach. The lighthouse is at the northern tip, 3.5 kilometers from bed and breakfast Smederij Texel.
