Enjoy the island’s unique blues atmosphere during Texelblues! This year’s 32nd edition of the festival will be staged in Den Burg from 11 to 13 October: three days filled with more than 30 national and international blues artists in 13 venues.
Highlights this year will include performances by guitarists Erja Lyytinen from Finland, Aynsley Lister from England and the Dutch Julian Sas Band. The Julian Sas Band plays the closing concert during the ‘Texel Beer Blues Night’.
Performances from Blackwater Roll Blues Band, Dede Priest & Johnny Clark Outlaws, Stef Paglia Trio, Bourbon Street Band, Tony Dowlers Hellhounds, Joost de Lange Band and Little Boogie Boy are also on the programme.
During the day and in the early evenings you can take part in a whole range of blues activities: performances, blues dinners and workshops. Click here for the complete programme.
Every week, artists register on the Texelblues website to be allowed to play at the festival. That’s why the organisation has devised the Texelblues Challenge. Five acts will be chosen by a jury, and will be invited to compete for the Texelblues Challenge Award on Saturday 12 October. The winner will appear as a supporting act on the MainStage in Question Plaza during the next edition.
You can follow the festival on Blues Radio 501 and Radio Texel. Blues DJ Rogier van Diesveld and Robbert Fossen will be presenting live radio with plenty of music and interviews with the artists.
