Five Texel restaurants in Lekker500

The Lekker500 restaurant guide is out now! This year, no fewer than five Texel restaurants feature in the Top 500 best restaurants in the Netherlands. Michelin-starred restaurant Bij Jef retained its place in the Top 100 and even climbed a few places from 43 to 36. In the Top 500, Fish Restaurant 't Pakhuus, Bosq Café-Restaurant, Eilandkeuken and Rebecca also received fantastic comments. Hats off!

Bij Jef has been the Michelin-starred restaurant of Texel since 2009. Head Chef Jef Schuur draws inspiration from home and abroad and uses mostly local ingredients. The jury of Lekker500 describes the dishes at Bij Jef as ‘extremely flavoursome’ and claim they just can’t get enough of them.

Fish Restaurant 't Pakhuus is praised in Lekker500 for its fresh fish. Head Chef Boy Schuiling mostly serves fish and shellfish from the North Sea and Wadden Sea at his restaurant, but meat lovers and vegetarians can also eat very well here.

Restaurant Bosq featured in last year’s Lekker500 and once again made the list this year. Last September, Bosq Café-Restaurant also won Texel Culinair 2018. So it has been a great year for this Texel restaurant!

Eilandkeuken in the centre of Den Burg has once again claimed a spot in the restaurant guide. True to its name (Island Kitchen), the restaurant uses mostly ingredients from the island, and according to the jury, a visit to this restaurant is ‘well worth the ferry crossing to Texel’.

Rebecca has made its reappearance in Lekker500. The jury describes the cuisine at this restaurant as ‘French with Wadden Island influences’.
