Can I stay in a holiday home on Texel with several families?

You may be at 1 holiday address:

  • with the people you live with at 1 address;
  • or in a group of 4 people who do not live together at the same address. Children up to the age of 12 do not count. For example, you may be at a holiday address with 4 adults who live at a different address and 2 children aged 8 years.

The following also applies at the holiday address: the visit of a maximum of 4 people per day is allowed.

Why is the situation not the same for all holiday accommodation?

Each campsite, holiday park or hotel decides for itself how they translate the RIVM guidelines into their practice and which facilities are available to guests.

Can (foreign) tourists have themselves tested for corona on Texel?

With Corona suspicious complaints, the first advice of the Texel GPs is to go home. If you have symptoms of the flu or a cold and you still want to stay on Texel, we ask you to have yourself tested. You can call the GGD to make an appointment at one of the test streets in the Netherlands (+31 850 659 063), or make an appointment on www.sneltestcoronatexel.nl for the rapid test, you will hear the results within 15 minutes. You can also get a travel certificate with a negative test for Germany and Belgium, for example.

Can German and Belgian guests still come to Texel?

Would you like to cross the Dutch border? Always find out in the country of your destination which measures and conditions apply.

I booked tickets for an activity. What now?

Is the ferry still crossing?

TESO sails again according to the normal timetable. The timetable can be found at www.teso.nl/en/. The ferry service requests that vehicle occupants remain in the vehicle as much as possible. Cyclists and pedestrians are asked to spread as much as possible in the salons. Extensive hygiene measures have been taken on board. Please note: passengers who are not in a vehicle are required to wear a non-medical mask during the crossing.

Are there markets on Texel?

Commodities markets remain open. The weekly market in Den Burg normally takes place on Mondays. Other markets are events and are not allowed to take place at this time.

Are the campsites and holiday parks still open?

Campsites and holiday parks are open. However, guests must maintain a 1.5 meter distance in these communal facilities.

Can I still travel by public transport?

What is the travel advice for Texel?

For travel advice, we base our information on that of RIVM. At the moment there is no travel ban in the Netherlands.
