In Museum Waelstee, located in an authentic farmhouse, the emphasis was initially on preserving the history of peasant life on Texel. The museum gives a versatile picture of life on Texel in the past. This development prompted the museum to be renamed Texel's cultural history museum. Every year one of the central themes of Arable Farming, Pasture, Flower Bulb Cultivation or Transport is presented prominently in a different form.
