The Keijser family’s asparagus are now famous on Texel and far beyond the island’s borders.
The briny sea air ensures the asparagus’ slow growth, producing a delicious, tender delicacy.
If you visit the island during the asparagus season (mid-April to 24 June), why not visit Hoeve Ongeren’s farm and the farm shop near De Waal. Fresh asparagus are available here, and you can have them mechanically peeled while you browse around the shop.
