HEMA in Den Burg is a household name on Texel. Here you can find all kinds of daily products, but you can also enjoy a delicious breakfast, lunch or enjoy a pastry and coffee. H.E.M.A. On November 4, 1926, the Hollandsche Eenheidsprijs Maatschappij Amsterdam, or H.E.M.A. for short, opened its first store in the Kalverstraat in Amsterdam. A department store for the common man where products were sold at unit prices of 10, 25 and 50 cents. In 1927 a store was opened outside Amsterdam and one year later there were already ten branches. There are now 500 stores in the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, France and Germany.
