Wezenspyk Cheese Farm
Wezenspyk Cheese Farm makes the authentic “Echte Texelse” farmhouse and sheep’s milk cheese. Farmer Anton Witte has been making the original Texel cheeses since 1981.
The milk is sourced from cows and sheep that graze on Texel. Wezenspyk started making Texel goats’ cheese in 2007.
The Skéép & Lantskap Texel Foundation at Wezenspyk:
On Tuesdays and Fridays at 2.00 p.m. (from April until October)Wezenspyk Farm organises a guided tour around the sheep field showing the sheep, calves and other young cattle. We visit the Schapenboet (a small sheep shed used for storing hay and tools) and Wezenspyk cheesemaker’s. The tour is concluded with a cheese tasting session.
The guided tour and cheese tasting is year round on Saturday at 11 am.
And from April until October also on Tuesday and Friday at 2 pm.
Adults: €5.50 per person. Children aged 4-9: € 2.50 per person
Location: Hoornderweg 29, halfway between Den Burg and Den Hoorn.
