Tips from the host

Our farm is located at (80 meters) walking distance from "het Hoge Berg" area. You can go hiking, cycling or horse riding here. The Hoge Berg is a boulder clay block from the Ice Age that lies 15.3 meters above sea level. In the Ice Age, the glaciers from the north took with them a solid mixture of boulders, gravel and clay, which was pushed up by the ice. The old villages of Den Hoorn, Den Burg, De Waal and Oosterend are also located on such higher grounds. This entire area is called the Old Land of Texel. You can still see the typical Texel garden walls and sheep sheds. Especially in the Hoge Berg area, between Den Burg and Oudeschild, many have been preserved. The largest village of Texel, Den Burg, is approximately 2.8 kilometers away. In Den Burg you can go shopping and / or enjoy a delicious cup of coffee on one of the many attractive terraces. At 50 meters walking distance from the farm is the bus stop, where Connexxion line 28/828 stops. Paid parking applies throughout Texel by means of an E-vignette. In the high season from July to the end of August there is a daily fair or market in one of our historic villages.
