Location

The stolpboerderij Brakestein is located in a beautiful place with a lot of history on the Skillepaadje at the foot of the De Hoge Berg nature reserve. Opposite the farm are the Wezenputten. These were owned by the orphanage in Den Burg, which sold the water to the ships of the VOC that departed from the Reede van Texel. Due to the high iron content, this water had an extra long shelf life. The cash box in which the proceeds of the water sales were kept is in Museum Kaap Skil in Oudeschild. Via the Skillepaadje you cycle in 5 minutes to the harbor village of Oudeschild. Den Burg is 1.5 km away.

Special about this accommodation

Washer and dryer. The apartment is equipped with a heat pump, making it comfortably warm in winter and nice and cool in summer. Because the energy is generated with solar panels on the cattle shed, Brakestein is energy neutral. There is a bicycle shed for shared use.

There is a private terrace in the communal garden at the rear of the farm. The farm site is not accessible. There is a charging station for electric cars for shared use. You must bring your own linen for the cot.

Gepflegte Wohnung mit viel Platz, Wohnzimmer etwas dunkler als in den anderen beiden Wohnungen. Leider lassen sich die Fenster der zwei Schlafzimmer zur Diele nicht öffnen. Wenn man gern mit offenen Fenstern schläft, bedauerlich. Ansonsten komfortable Wohnung.
