Location

Grand Hotel Opduin is quietly located on the edge of the seaside resort of De Koog, in the middle of the Duinen van Texel National Park. This park covers the entire west coast, from the Hors to the Eierland Dunes. The hotel is surrounded by woods and dunes and because of its location on a dune top, you have a beautiful view of the surroundings from the hotel. You can walk from the hotel garden to the beach in a few minutes via a dune path. Due to its central location, Opduin is a great starting point for excursions and cycling and walking tours on Texel. There are several places of interest in the area.

Das Frühstück war umfangreich, die warmen Gerichte (Frühstücksspeck, Rührei und.a.) allerdings nur lauwarm bis kalt. Das Abendessen im Restaurant war leider ein Reinfall. Nachdem unsere Getränke serviert waren, hatten wir anscheinend eine Tarnkappe auf, denn wir wurden völlig ignoriert, während an den anderen Tischen bis zu drei Servicekräfte im Einsatz waren. Wir sind dann nach rund 70 Minuten ohne etwas zu essen gegangen.

Texel is a vibrant island. There are many activities throughout the year. Unique sports events, culinary activities to the best music festivals. Of course a visit to famous scenic spots such as the Slufter nature reserve, the Lighthouse and Ecomare are more than worthwhile.
