Location

This bed (no breakfast), housed in a picturesque house, is located in the heart of the village on Herenstraat in Den Hoorn, in the south of Texel. The narrow streets are lined with beautiful buildings and offer a variety of galleries, restaurants, a supermarket, and bike rentals. The Reformed church with its white tower is a real eye-catcher. A 10-minute bike ride takes you to the expansive North Sea beach. You'll pass through a beautiful dune area that's part of the Dunes of Texel National Park, with an extensive network of cycling and hiking trails. The De Geul nature reserve, home to a large spoonbill colony, is also nearby. A supermarket and restaurants are within 100 meters.

There's plenty of coffee and tea, and always fresh eggs from Texel chickens. You can pick up a larger breakfast or lunch for the road at the Goënga shop a little further on. Introduce

We moved to Den Hoorn not so long ago. We came for the beach walks, fell in love with the nature, stayed for the delicious food, returned for the birds, and now we never leave because of our lovely little house in the most charming village on Texel. And we'd love to share all of that.

Tips from the host

Take your time and explore our beautiful village. Zigzag from the church via the Hoge Achterom and Lage Achterom back along Herenstraat and leave the village via Diek or Klif. Walk around the village for about an hour, perhaps even to Mokbaai, and then back along the country lanes. Stop by the "Boetje van Klemat" (Little Cottage of Klemat). Have a drink and a bite to eat at one of the restaurants. Breathe in. Breathe out. Only now are you ready for the rest of Texel. And you'll see: tonight feels like coming home to Het Heertje in Den Hoorn.
