Location

This holiday home is located in the quiet bungalow park Slufterhoek, in the north of Texel. You will be staying here near the nature reserve De Slufter, where the sea has free rein and special plants grow. Through De Slufter you can walk to the vast North Sea beach in 20 minutes. The nature reserve De Muy is also nearby. Here you can take beautiful walks. From your holiday address it is 6 kilometers to De Cocksdorp, the northernmost village on Texel. The seaside resort of De Koog is also 6 km by bike, but then to the south. Beautiful cycle routes through the dunes lead to both villages and you will find shops, terraces and restaurants there. In the immediate vicinity you will find a restaurant (750m) and various attractions, such as the airport, parachuting center and ice cream farm Labora.

Schöner Garten, Haus muffig

Sehr schön gelegenens Haus, kurzer Weg zu den Dünen mit großem Garten und sehr ruhig. Das Haus selber riecht leider muffig. 3 Betten waren gut, ein Bett hat bei jeder Bewegung furchtbar gequietscht. Bei uns gab es sehr viele Mücken, aber leider keinen Mückenschutz an den Schlafzimmerfenstern. Bad und WC in Ordnung, aber etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Kein Wäscheständer vorhanden. Küche und Wohnzimmer gut ausgestattet.

Last Minute - aber nicht ideal

Ich bin schon oft auf Texel gewesen und weiß, dass der bauliche Standard der Bungalows nicht sehr hoch ist. Dieser hat leider nur eine Schiebetür, die direkt in den Wohnbereich führt. Während unseres Aufenthaltes hatten wir 3 Tage mit Ameisen und Eintagsfliegen zu kämpfen, die durch die luftige Tür in den Raum kamen. Der sehr schwache Staubsauger schaffte gerdae die Tiere aufzusaugen. Dabei roch es allerdings extrem nach Hund, obwohl der Bungalow als Tierfrei gekennzeichnet wurde. Erst nach dem Austausch von Filter und Beutel wurde es etwas besser. Hervorzuheben ist der Backofen in der Küche. Es ist das 1. Mal. dass ich in einer Ferienwohnung auf Texel einen Backofen vorgefunden habe.

Our bungalow rental has been located on the edge of De Slufter for over 50 years. Founded by Henk Hooijschuur, the third generation is now at the helm. We rent accommodations near De Slufter, but also near the Lighthouse, in the Krim area, and even in Oosterend! Our houses are unique because no two are alike. Personal contact is our top priority. We look forward to welcoming you to one of our houses!

Tips from the host

Start from restaurant De Slufter and walk under the dunes towards Cocksdorp. You'll automatically reach Oorsprongweg (the "blind path"), where you can cross the dunes on the left to the "Diepe gat" viewpoint. From there, you can walk through the Slufter back to the famous staircase. Finish with a hot chocolate at restaurant De Slufter!
