The living room has a sitting area with TV. There is also a dining area. The open kitchen is equipped with a 5-burner stove, refrigerator with freezer, convection oven, dishwasher, coffee maker, Nespresso machine and kettle. The bathroom has a shower and toilet. Upstairs are two bedrooms, one with a double bed (160 x 200). The other bedroom has 2 single beds (80 x 200). There are single duvets, four pieces and a double duvet. De Waal is the smallest and one of the oldest villages on Texel. This detached holiday home is located on the western edge of the village of De Waal, near the Waalenburg bird area. Museum Waelstee Texel and a restaurant are within walking distance. The center of Den Burg with many shops and restaurants is 2.5 kilometers from your house. The beaches of the North Sea, the Wadden coast and the port town of Oudeschild are also within cycling distance.

Special about this accommodation

Cable TV via fiber optic and internet. The rental price includes kitchen towels. There is underfloor heating in the bathroom. In the garden there is a shed with the possibility to charge electric bicycles. There is a barbecue and you have your own parking space. The hostess is an expert in the field of regional products, a culinary publicist for various cookbooks about Texel and the Wadden, and she grows her own vegetables. During the season you can get vegetables from the vegetable garden. This is a ‘ZoTexels’ accommodation. Das Haus liegt an einer viel befahrenden Durchgangsstraße. Die Terrasse und der Garten sind sehr schön angelegt. Das Badezimmer liegt direkt hinter der Küche und die Fliesen in der Dusche sind eher glatt, wenn sie feucht sind. Durch die sehr steile Treppe mit kleinen Stufen ist diese Unterkunft sicherlich nicht für kleine Kinder oder in der Mobilität eingeschränkte Personen zu empfehlen. In dem Haus befindet sich alles was man braucht. Es ist sauber.

Introduce

As a cook, gardener, cookbook writer and gastronomic Wadden Sea expert, I enjoy living and working on Texel. The garden, with vegetable garden, is my field of work and I like to let others enjoy it too. The books written by me can be viewed in the holiday home and the vegetable garden is also for the guests, so I try to contribute to a tasteful Wadden stay. The house has a lovely covered terrace with a beautiful sunset and you can quickly eat outside.

Tips from the host

The house is located on the outskirts of Waalenburg, a beautiful nature reserve and many bird species can be spotted. The location of the house is very central, you can easily cycle everywhere. The village of De Waal is small and has an interesting museum and an honest restaurant.
