Art exhibition in De Hoeksteen

Discover art at De Hoeksteen, the building next to the Hoornder Kerkje in Den Hoorn. Each month, a new exhibition presents work by various artists, many of them from Texel. The exhibitions range from ceramics, paintings and sculptures to wall objects and jewellery, both abstract and figurative. From 7 July to 30 July 2026, De Hoeksteen will feature work by Hendrien Landeweer, Harmen Platte and Marga Loos. The exhibition brings together different art forms, with pieces inspired by the Texel landscape, freedom, form, colour and textiles. Harmen Platte draws much of his inspiration from the Texel landscape. De Slufter, with its ever-changing natural colour palette, is a recurring theme in his work. His style is broad and diverse, and he continues to develop new ideas during his walks and journeys across Texel. Hendrien Landeweer works from the theme of women and freedom. Female torsos form an important part of her work, but she also creates sculptures connected to the sea. She mainly works with wood and stone, sometimes combining these materials with metal, synthetic materials, plaster or wool. Marga Loos is inspired by colour, dynamics, movement and variation in her surroundings. Through textiles, she captures space, colour and layers. She mainly works with plain fabrics, organza, various types of yarn and occasionally textile paint. The exhibition is free to visit. You can also combine your visit with a guided tour of the Hoornder Kerkje and admire its distinctive interior. Address: Kerkstraat 3, 1797 AD Den Hoorn Opening hours: Tuesday to Thursday, 11:00 AM – 4:00 PM More information: www.demtex.nl
