Muziek op zondag - From Musical and Movies

Sunday, April 19, 2026 Women's Choir Allegro sings under the direction of conductor Nelleke Schreur-Visser. The choir has been in existence for seven years now and is a convivial group of women who enjoy doing one thing above all: singing together. Last year, the program featured songs from musicals and films, with piano accompaniment by Elisabeth Waverijn. Allegro likes to demonstrate just how versatile it is. Previous performances have had themes such as *Noordwaarts* (songs from Scandinavia), *English Music Through the Ages*, and songs from the Low Countries: From Sweelinck to Shaffy. Everyone is welcome to come and listen, but capacity is limited. Time: 3:00 PM Cost: Voluntary contribution April 26, 2026 On the afternoon before King's Day, the trio ‘Zo kan het ook!’ will provide a festive performance at De Vermaning in Den Hoorn. Jessica van Noord (vocals, guitar), Jozeph (clarinet, ukulele, flutes), and Tineke Vlaar (accordion) present a varied program featuring well-known ballads, swinging jazz numbers, Dutch evergreens, sentimental ballads, and original work. Jessica van Noord is no stranger to Texel and has previously performed at venues including Klif 12 and Broadway. In recent years, she has been a regular guest at De Vermaning. Expect a musical performance with a cabaret twist, a great atmosphere, and plenty of opportunity to sing along. Especially fun for King's Day: the program will have a festive orange touch. Time: 3:00 PM Cost: voluntary contribution May 17, 2026 Adri de Boer, also known as the Frisian troubadour, is returning to Texel. He previously managed to touch the audience with his Frisian-language songs, and that performance left them wanting more. Now he returns to De Vermaning in Den Hoorn. As a singer and entertainer, Adri de Boer has more than earned his stripes. His performance guarantees an atmospheric and musical afternoon in which you will enjoy his recognizable style and warm presence. Time: 3:00 PM Cost: Voluntary contribution May 31, 2026 Rik Hoogendoorn, known from radio and television, is performing at De Vermaning with the program ‘Als jij gaat’. He has been writing and playing his own songs since he was fifteen. His albums ‘Donkerblauw Hotel’ and ‘Als jij gaat’ form the basis for this show, with which he is now also visiting Texel. During this afternoon, you will hear moving songs, interspersed with short anecdotes. Rik Hoogendoorn is musically accompanied by multi-instrumentalist Anke Piersma, who earned her stripes in musical orchestras. Time: 3:00 PM Cost: voluntary contribution June 7, 2026 Duo Ibo & Moniek takes you on a musical journey full of atmosphere and energy. Moniek de Leeuw (vocals, violin) and Ibo Bakker (vocals, guitar) have been playing together for years and share their love for travel, discovery, and new music. During this performance, you will hear an infectious mix of gypsy, ragtime, and Armenian ballads. The fun is palpable, making for a cheerful and playful afternoon at De Vermaning. Time: 3:00 PM Cost: €15 Reservations: vandebrake@planet.nl or 0222-319688 June 14, 2026 Jazz lovers can indulge themselves during the performance by Ola Rud & Pietro Aloi at De Vermaning. Ola Rud is a jazz singer with a remarkably warm voice. After fleeing Kyiv, she is trying to build a new life in Amsterdam. She has already performed on Texel several times and consistently manages to surprise the audience. This time, she is once again sharing the stage with Pietro Aloi, a talented jazz pianist with Italian roots. Together, they ensure an atmospheric and musical performance. Time: 3:00 PM Cost: Voluntary contribution July 19, 2026 How do McCartney's songs sound in Dutch? The men of Pepervlaay provide their own surprising answer to that question at De Vermaning. Familiar melodies are given a new twist: sometimes literally translated, sometimes freely interpreted, but always multi-part, atmospheric, and performed with joy. It is not an ordinary tribute, but a playful reinvention of songs that many people know. Pepervlaay previously ensured a packed house at De Vermaning. Now they return with new songs. Time: 3:00 PM Cost: voluntary contribution

De Vermaning Den Hoorn

De Vermaning Den Hoorn

This church is well hidden: from the road you have no idea that there is a church on Diek. This is due to its history, De Vermaning was built as a hidden church for the Mennonite congregation. Access through a secret gate The gate of Diek 11 gives you access to the path that takes you to the church. The church is hidden behind a row of houses and in the backyard of Diek 11, as it were. Exhibition space The church is no longer used for services of the Baptist congregation. It is now a place where exhibitions and activities are organized.
