Saturday, October 18 to Friday, October 31, 2025 Double exhibition, 80 Years of Freedom: Day of Birth & War. This exhibition is an initiative of the May 4/5 Committee, in collaboration with the Texel Veterans Foundation. Day of Birth - poetic portraits by Arjan Trap. Texel residents in their octogenarian years born around the time of liberation, their wartime experiences, and young parents with newborns posed for the photographer and together form hopeful triptychs. War on Texel - XXL comic book. The comic book "War on Texel" – commissioned by the Texel Veterans Foundation – by Eric Hercules and Fred de Heij about the Georgian uprising was launched in early May. Unique: all pages of the comic book are printed one meter high, and the story can be read as you walk, a walk-in comic book. Location: Burghtkerk, Binnenburg 2, Den Burg Hours: Daily from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM (except Sunday mornings). Admission: Free.

De Burght kerk
The large church that you can already see in the wider area of Den Burg is De Burgt church. This is the church of the Protestant congregation. A service is held here on Sundays, the church is also used as a location for events. Climbing the church tower In the summer months, the church tower is open on certain days. From the high tower you get a beautiful view over Den Burg and the surrounding landscape. Event venue The church is regularly the stage for exhibitions, performances and memorial services.
