Bone show at Ecomare
Did you know that mammoths, giant deer and woolly rhinos once roamed the area that is now the North Sea? Fishermen still get the bones of these Ice Age mammals in their nets. Died on land tens of thousands of years ago and preserved on the seabed. Curator Arthur Oosterbaan has a cart full of bones and all kinds of wild stories about that time. Come look and listen in the Ecomare museum. Touching is allowed!

A short distance outside De Koog in the dunes near paal 17, you will find the nature museum and seal sanctuary Ecomare. seals If you want to see a seal up close, this is possible in Ecomare. The seals are fed at 11 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. During the feeding, everything is told about the seals that live in Ecomare. You can also admire other sea creatures in Ecomare.
