
You're not afraid of a little mud, are you? Dirty feet are guaranteed in this active family program on and around the mudflats! All sorts of animals live on and in the mudflats, such as crabs, shellfish, and worms. By digging and turning over rocks, these creatures will appear. Tip: wear boots, sandals, or shoes that can get wet, and bring an extra jacket or sweater. Starting time: depends on the tide. Check the Ecomare website for current times. The excursion lasts one and a half to two hours.

A little outside De Koog in the dunes near post 17, you will find nature museum and seal sanctuary Ecomare. Seals If you want to see a seal up close, you can do so at Ecomare. The seals are fed at 11:00 and 15:30. During the feeding, you will be told all about the seals that live at Ecomare. You can also admire other sea animals at Ecomare. The bird sanctuary can be visited and there is a whale hall with skeletons of various whales and dolphins. Nature education There are various exhibitions about the Wadden Sea, the North Sea and nature on Texel. Do you want to experience nature up close? Then book an excursion at Ecomare led by a guide. Work is being done on the roof, but you won't notice anything inside. So don't be put off by the building materials, Ecomare is making things more sustainable!
