On three Tuesdays, Ecomare organizes a winter lecture on the theme 'The future of the Wadden Sea Region'. On January 24, Ad van der Spek will talk about the geological expectations for the area, and on February 7, Katja Philippart will talk about the biological expectations. On February 21, Jan van Gils will talk about possible future scenarios for the wading birds. The lectures always start at 8 pm and cost € 5,- including coffee/tea.

A short distance outside De Koog in the dunes near paal 17, you will find the nature museum and seal sanctuary Ecomare. seals If you want to see a seal up close, this is possible in Ecomare.
