May 1 to July 30, 2026 From May 1 to July 30, 2026, various exhibitions in this exhibition series can be viewed daily between 11:00 AM and 5:00 PM, almost continuously. You will see a variety of paintings, ceramics, sculptures, and mixed media by different artists, each with their own perspective and style. The exhibitions invite you to reflect on themes such as origin, vulnerability, contrast, and the connection with the sea. The series begins with ‘Oersprong’ by Henk Suilen, in which the origin of the earth and our history of creation take center stage. This is followed by ‘De kern is vulkaan’ by Rob Souverein and Marja van Etten, an exhibition about grief, loss, resilience, and connection. In July, the duo exhibition by Mariska Kooijman-Coutinho and Ina Vader will be on display first, in which differences in style and material come together under the title ‘Eenheid in tegen’. Subsequently, ‘Women of the Sea’ concludes the series with work by Fransien van der Meer and Wendy Kranendonk, focusing on ceramics, paintings, and objects made from recycled ship rope. On view at: 1 May to 31 May 2026 – ‘Origin’ – Henk Suilen 3 June to 25 June 2026 – ‘The core is vulnerability’ – Rob Souverein and Marja van Etten 1 July to 16 July 2026 – duo exhibition Mariska Kooijman-Coutinho and Ina Vader 17 July to 30 July 2026 – ‘Women of the Sea’ – Fransien van der Meer and Wendy Kranendonk

This church is well hidden: from the road you have no idea that there is a church on Diek. This is due to its history, De Vermaning was built as a hidden church for the Mennonite congregation. Access through a secret gate The gate of Diek 11 gives you access to the path that takes you to the church. The church is hidden behind a row of houses and in the backyard of Diek 11, as it were. Exhibition space The church is no longer used for services of the Baptist congregation. It is now a place where exhibitions and activities are organized.
