Saturday, November 22, 2025 This year, the Great Dictation of the Dutch Language will also be broadcast live from the library on Texel on Saturday, November 22. Kopgroep Library Texel is one of the participating locations. If you'd like to participate and are up for the challenge, sign up. The dictation is accessible to anyone who knows the rules of Dutch spelling, though there are, of course, a few tricky challenges. Together with all the participants, we will strive to become the best-spelling library in the Netherlands. The best speller from Kopgroep Library Texel will receive a prize. Want to take your preparation seriously? On the Onze Taal website, you'll find tips, spelling quizzes, and practice dictations. The Great Dictation of the Dutch Language is organized by NPO Radio 1 in collaboration with KRO-NCRV's De Taalstaat, Onze Taal, and production company Men at Work. Twenty Dutch celebrities and twenty De Taalstaat listeners will compete against each other. Frits Spits of De Taalstaat will host the event, the dictation text was written by Wim Daniëls, and Gerdi Verbeet will read aloud. Program: Doors open at 10:30 AM, dictation starts at 11:00 AM, program ends at 1:00 PM
