Day of the Sheep
Saturday, June 6, 2026 Want to learn more about the sheep you see all over the island? Then come to Sheep Day! There's a sheep inspection, the Texel sheep shearing championship, and a market. Fourteen Texel breeders will be sending around 250 animals. The judges will select the best rams, ewes, and lambs. The inspection begins around 10:30 AM. During the break, around 12:30 PM, the sheep shearing begins, where experts will select the Texel shearing champion. Snacks and drinks will be available, and the market on Kerkstraat will offer a variety of other products related to sheep and other Texel products. Time: 10:30 AM - 4:00 PM.
