Thursday July 18, 2024 Do you want to know more about the sheep you see all over the island? Then come to the Day of the Sheep! There is a sheep inspection, the Texel sheep shearing championship and a stall market. Fourteen Texel breeders together send about 250 animals. It is up to the jury to place the best rams, ewes and lambs at the top. The judging starts around 10:30 am. During the break, around 12:30 p.m., the sheep shearing will begin, with experts from the trade choosing Texel's shaving champion. There is a snack and a drink available and at the stall market in the Kerkstraat all kinds of other products that are connected to the sheep and other products from Texel soil. Time: 10:30 AM - 4:00 PM.
