Tuesday, April 25, 2023 Dana Nolte, scientist at NIOZ, is coming to the library. She is coming to give an interactive lecture for elementary school children ages 8 and up about researching what lives on the bottom of the mudflats. At NIOZ, research is done on the sea. Dana is working on a large mudflat bottom research project. In her lecture, she takes participants through her work of taking samples, sorting them out in the lab, looking at them under the microscope and then processing the data. The children get to help pick out the worms and crustaceans from the samples and find species by species. Children ages 8 to 12 years can sign up for the lecture.
