Workshop Craft and Metal
Experience how special it is to work with fire and metal in a traditional way during this creative hands-on workshop on Texel. Under the guidance of Jacqueline Jimmink – craftswoman and master engraver – you will get to work with fire, color, and metal. You will work with techniques that have been used for centuries and discover how to create your own masterpiece step by step. Drilling, sawing, cutting, filing, bending, enameling, and hand engraving: you will learn it all in one workshop. No experience is necessary – the program is tailored to your level. At the end, you will go home with your own unique piece. Start times: See the calendar in the price overview. Price: € 45.00 p.p. (with a minimum of 4 participants) for 2.5 hours. The cost includes a materials package and a drink (coffee/tea or lemonade). Please note: if there are fewer than 4 registrations for the workshop, Jacqueline Jimmink will contact you. Location
The event will take place at the JMJ Ambachtsatelier. Vogelenzang 19, 1791 EZ Den Burg. The metal staircase leads up to the right of the entrance to the JUMBO supermarket. Parking is free without a Texel sticker and with a parking disc, for a maximum of 2 hours. Advice: come without a car, on foot, by bike, or park your car in a spot with no parking restrictions.
Important to know
Workshop for ages 9 and up (younger children must be accompanied). Want to make it a complete experience? Combine your day with the Copper Hammering and Chiseling Workshop in the afternoon and combine it with the Craftsmanship and Metal workshop in the morning. This way, you can easily put together a unique day workshop. The workshop is led by artist, craftswoman, and master engraver Jacqueline Jimmink, who is of Texel descent. She lived and worked in Italy for many years and graduated as an engraver from the Schoonhoven Technical College in 1992. Jacqueline currently resides on Texel, where she has her engraving studio where she creates metal art and preserves and shares knowledge of various endangered crafts such as hand engraving, enameling, chiseling, and copper plating. Times: Tuesdays at 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM and Fridays at 2:00 PM. Other dates are also available upon request. Please contact Jacqueline Jimmink for more information. Price: €45.00.
