Covered wagon ride over the Hoge Berg with 'Kikkertsparadise Puur Texel'

Discover the Hoge Berg nature reserve with a covered wagon ride! Coachman Martin has lived here almost his entire life and has known this unique area since 1959. During the 2.5-hour tour, you will travel through one of the most beautiful parts of Texel, the Hoge Berg. This authentic tour takes you past old farms, beautiful country roads and through flocks of sheep. You will visit areas of nature that are normally off-limits, with the most beautiful views and vistas! Along the way, there will be a stop for coffee/tea and a snack. Martin grew up among horses. At that time, there were no tractors and all the work was done with horses. At “Kikkertsparadise Puur Texel”, Fjord horses have been bred since 1959 and nowadays they occasionally have foals. Martin and Ellen also have a sheep farm and can tell you a lot about it. Days: Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday. Times: from 2:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Cost: adults €25, children 3-12 years €15, and children under 3 years free. Due to limited space, dogs heavier than 30 kg are not allowed. Dogs are free. It is also possible to book a private tour. Days: Monday, Tuesday and Thursday. Cost: from € 400. Want to hire the entire covered wagon? That's possible, just contact Kikkertsparadise Puur Texel. For more information, please call the Texel Tourist Office. Please note: there is a minimum number of participants for this tour. If there are too few participants or bad weather, you will be notified in advance whether the tour can take place. The explanation is mainly given in Dutch and partly in German/English. There are no tours from the end of February to the end of April. Tickets are available; click on “View times” to book. If this does not work, please call +31 222 314 741 or visit the VVV Texel shop.

Kikkertsparadise Puur Texel

In the beautiful Hoge Berg area you will find 'Puur Texel' (formerly Kikkertsparadise), the starting point for a covered wagon trip across the oldest part of Texel. Unique area Discover this beautiful area from the covered wagon, pulled by Fjord horses. A trip with the covered wagon offers you the opportunity to discover this sheep area from a different side. The tour goes over country roads, through meadows and even through areas where you are normally not allowed to go. Especially during the spring, when the lambs are born, the Hoge Berg area is beautiful. If you are an experienced rider, it is possible to ride behind the covered wagon on the back of a Fjord horse. The trip takes 2.5 hours and on the way there is time for coffee or tea with something sweet. Groups Do you have a party or group outing planned? It is also possible to make a trip with the covered wagon of 'Puur Texel'.
