Saturday 14 to 21 June 2025 An art manifestation by the Zout Artists' Association and the village of De Waal. Lots of art, music, poetry, a dinner, a fair and much more. All this under the title Art & Roses. A week of enjoyment! A special walk of a few hundred meters through the idyllic village along four easily accessible locations. A walk to take some time for; first to Het Dorpshuis De Wielewaal, De Kerk, the Texel heritage museum Waelstee and a barn at the Hogereind. The information center and starting point is in the village house De Wielewaal. Where art can be seen around the theme "At home in the green." Visitors are welcomed and receive a beautiful card with a poem, especially written for ART&ROSES by island poet Fiet van Beek. The church is the 2nd location. With very special work by Icon painter Henk Roersma (1931-2022) Also an exhibition of the portrait group of Zout who work weekly from a live model with different techniques. Then to the Texel heritage Museum Waelstee, where Marja Dros exhibits painted Texel scenes. On the way, just stop for a moment at the blooming hollyhocks that are throughout the village? Always good for a nice photo! On to the barn at the Hogereind of Sandor Mantje. Where a special installation can be seen, specially made for ART & ROSES. But also photos and recycled art. 25 Zout artists and guest exhibitors present more than 120 works. Guest artists Antoinette Leroy, Caroline Serton and Paul Wartenbergh have been invited to exhibit their work. A special outdoor location artwork "ART & Pommes" is made together with volunteers from the village. They also work enthusiastically on original decoration of the locations.
