Tuesday, July 4, 2023 This summer De Zomerkerk will once again be organizing surprising concerts in Texel churches by professional musicians. Twelve summer evenings long. A concert will also take place in the Maartenskerk in Oosterend. Trio Da Capo (violin, viola, cello) plays dream program: Beethoven, Martinu, Bach. Twenty-seven years after String Trio Boussu, Annemieke Corstens (violin), Marjolein Dispa (viola) and Ceciel Strouken (cello) start Da Capo (‘again from the beginning’). A repetition is never exactly the same and always exciting. The musicians have earned their spurs in chamber music, both at home and abroad, as soloists and as teachers. Now they are performing a dream of a program in the Maartenskerk in Oosterend with a string trio by Beethoven and one by B. Martinu. These pieces are framed by Bach's sinfonias. The Sinfonias are written for harpsichord. Each Sinfonia has its own character in its own key. L. v. Beethoven wrote his string trios in Vienna between 1796-1798. Absolute masterpieces! Beethoven was looking for the ultimate harmony of the strings. This four-part string trio exudes a wonderful freshness. Martinu's second string trio, composed in 1934, is a beautifully written work in which rhythmic and lilting folk music elements alternate. Times: the concert starts at 8.15 pm.
