TESO wheelhouse at Beachcombersmuseum Flora
Take a look at the wheelhouse of the former TESO (Texels Own Steamboat Company) ship the 'Schulpengat'. The wheelhouse is part of the TESO exhibition pavilion in which a large exhibition about the TESO ferry service can be admired. Visit this unique building and take a journey through TESO's history. In this family exhibition you listen to stories, watch beautiful films and play the 'student game', among other things. Step into the 'old salon' and experience an exciting journey in which all kinds of things happen ... do you dare? Upstairs you can visit the wheelhouse of the former ferry ms Schulpengat. Experience how the captain drove the boat back and forth every day. Millions of tourists and residents sailed the Schulpengat from 1990 to 2015 to and from Texel. Welcome aboard! About 3 kilometers outside De Koog, on the Pontweg, you will find Maritime and Beachcombers Museum Flora. Exhibition Have you always been curious about what washes up on Texel's beach? You have come to the right place at Flora to find an answer to this. The museum has different themed areas where countless items found on the beach are on display. Children on discovery There is also a lot to discover for children. There is a treasure hunt with fun games and when the children are tired there is a playground where they can enjoy themselves. You can eat and drink something in the museum café after your visit.
