Sunday, May 24, 2026 Visit the telephone connection bunker of the former German bunker complex Widerstandsnest 21 H. This bunker complex, dating from 1943, originally comprised nearly fifty bunkers, structures, and field fortifications and played a significant role in the fighting during the Georgian Uprising from April 6 to May 20, 1945. Now, only the telephone connection bunker and the horse stable on the corner of Georgiaweg remain. Over the past few years, volunteers have made the bunker partially visible and accessible. Inside, you will see a collection of remnants found on the Texla site, donated war artifacts with a Texel background, and characteristic bunker objects that provide a glimpse into life in a manned bunker. The bunker is accessible to visitors, with good parking facilities for bicycles and cars. Dogs are welcome, provided they are kept on a leash.
