Oudheidkamer with Open Monument Day
Saturday September 14, 2024 Due to Open Monument Day, the Oudheidkamer is accessible free of charge today. You will find this small, picturesque museum with a beautiful herb garden in the center of Den Burg, in one of the oldest houses on the island. It is decorated with items from your grandmother's time. The herb garden behind the house is a small paradise full of fragrant flowers and herbs. On the top floor you will find an exhibition about games and toys. You can also play there yourself! Opening hours: 11 a.m. - 4 p.m., see the program at oudheidkamertexel.nl

In one of the oldest houses on Texel, in the centre of Den Burg, you will find the small museum De Oudheidkamer. The beautiful house is furnished with furniture and items from the 19th century. Texel history Are you curious about how people lived on Texel in those days? When you enter the Oudheidkamer, you go back in time. You will find clothing and utensils there. You can also do the true or nonsense quiz to learn more about life in the past. From the Oudheidkamer, a historical tour of Den Burg is organised every Wednesday. For more details, see our agenda. Herb garden As an oasis of peace in the centre of Den Burg, there is a herb garden behind the Oudheidkamer. All kinds of plants and shrubs with a special story grow in the garden.
