Saturday, December 12, 2026 The centuries-old, yet still very much alive tradition: Ouwe Sunderklaas has nothing to do with Sinterklaas. As soon as it gets dark, the spectacle begins. In all the villages, events from Texel's current affairs are re-enacted. The actors are disguised as unrecognizable characters. After the re-enactment, the party continues in all the pubs. It's a festival for and by the people of Texel, and tourists are, of course, also very welcome. Admission is free. Starting time: from approximately 5:00 PM (children), followed by adults from approximately 8:00 PM.
