Summer evening concert in Roman Catholic church Den Burg
Tuesday 12 August 2025 This summer, the Zomerkerk is organising surprising concerts performed by professional musicians. In the R.K. church in Den Burg, a concert will be held by Sara de los Campos Valdés (vocals), Uma Torres Tarrés (flute) and Ekaterina Uvarove (baroque guitar) Times: the concert starts at 20:15. Costs: admission is free. Please take into account a voluntary cash contribution afterwards; there is no PIN option.

R.K. Parochie
This is the main church of the R.K. parish Texel and also the largest church of this community. The Johannes de Doper church can be found just outside the center of Den Burg. Weekly church service The celebrations in this church are usually on Sundays at 10:00 AM. Reconstruction In 1572 another church was looted by the Watergeuzen. The R.K. built its own church here in 1573. The present church was built in 1862-1863. And there is even more history: there are three chandeliers in the church, two of which date from the 17th century.
