The national Rescue boat day

Saturday, May 9, 2026 Visit the KNRM station in Oudeschild and learn all about the KNRM! Lifeboat Day is an annual event where lifeboat stations in the Netherlands open their doors to the public. On this day, donors have the unique opportunity to sail on a KNRM lifeboat and gain insight into the important work of the volunteers. As a donor to the Royal Netherlands Sea Rescue Institution (KNRM), you can enjoy an exciting boat trip. Non-donors can become donors that day and sail on board immediately. By doing so, you support the KNRM. It's a great opportunity to meet the rescuers behind the scenes, ask questions, and learn more about the techniques and technologies used to save lives at sea. In Oudeschild, on the quay by the boathouse, you can view the Coastal Emergency Response Unit (KHV) and there's a stall with fun and new KNRM merchandise from the rescue shop, which you can also use to support the rescue work. Everyone who cares about the KNRM and is interested is welcome! The KNRM rescues people and animals in distress at sea and inland waterways. We have been doing this voluntarily, selflessly, and independently since 1824. 365 days a year. Location: Boothuis Oudeschild, Haven 24 Hours: 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM

Location

Boathouse KNRM Oudeschild is located at the marina in Oudeschild. Haven 24 1792 AE Oudeschild.

Important to know

During the cruise donors are obliged to wear a life jacket, which is provided by the crew. There are also life jackets for children. Children can only sail accompanied by adults. Unfortunately, sailing along is not a guarantee. It depends on weather conditions and crowds or possibly a real alarm.
