Introduction to Sashiko, Japanese Embroidery

Sunday, October 26, 2025 Sashiko is a Japanese embroidery technique originally intended to enhance and embellish fabric. The fabric is always blue, the thread always a contrasting white. Sashiko essentially consists of fixed patterns, but any decoration is possible. During the autumn/winter exhibition "Het Schaarse Licht" (The Scarce Light), two Zout artists will be giving a creative workshop at the Kunst-Etage. A workshop at this inspiring location not only offers participants the opportunity to engage in creative activities with others but also to see and discuss art up close. Time: 1:00 PM - 3:30 PM
